Carillon Client allows users to activate temporary permissions. Windows Vista and newer allows temporary user account to be activated using credential provider that is integrated to operating system for prompting elevated credential. For older Windows Operating Systems temporary local user account can be activated using Carillon Client notification area action.
Activation code that is required to activate local temporary user account is generated by support personnel using Centero Carillon management portal. Activation code can be also generated using self service request directly from Carillon Client. When activation code is requested using self service mode, the Carillon Client need to contact Agent Gateway service. This usually means that computer need to be connected to organizations internal network. When activation code is generated by support person, the computer does not need any network connection.
